Things to do in Puerto Banus
|
The focal point of Puerto Banus is the marina which houses over 900 boats and luxury yachts owned by some of the world's wealthiest individuals. Behind the harbour lies an impressive array of fantastic restaurants to suit all budgets, lively alfresco bars, boutiques and nightclubs. Head to second line behind the marina for a long night of partying or relax in one of the quieter piano bars along the frontline facing the marina. There is a nearby seven screen cinema and chidren's activities and street entertainers during the summer in the Mini Fair, Plaza Antonio Banderas, Puerto Banus Centre.
Every saturday morning the street market takes place near the old bullring where tourists and residents barter for the best bargains of the day. There are several safe sandy beaches on each side of the marina with unobstructed views of La Concha mountain, one the coast's landmarks.
Whatever your age, interests and hobbies Puerto Banus has something for everyone. We have provided details of some of the most popular attractions below.

Shopping
| Devoted shoppers unite in Peurto Banus where designer names are plentiful.
From D & G and Dior to local designers and boutiques everything can be found within a few streets.
The major chains such as Mango and Zara can be found in Antonio Banderas Square which plays host to a wonderful open-air market in August.
El Corte Ingles
Situated in Costa Marbella Shopping Centre and a 10 minute walk from the apartment (walk down Playas Del Duque, take the second exit on the roundabout, keep walking and you will find this massive store on your left hand side) El Corte Ingles has become spain’s answer to Selfridges and just about sells everything. There is also a department store within a department store called Hipercor which also sells everything including high quality food. Free delivery if you spend over 100 euro. Dependent on time of year opens seven days a week. Car parking is available underground and there are taxis immediately outside for those who require a return trip to the apartment.

Directly opposite El Corte Ingles is Marina Banus Shopping Centre which houses an excellent Zara.
The nearest food shop is Opencor on the corner Playas Del Duque, located next to the Casa Armani furniture and decoration store
This operates 365 days of the year and most hours of each day and night. Opened in June 2009 and a welcome addition for all guests we are assured.
Food and other goods tend to be a little more expensive here than in the hiperor but very convenient if you don’t fancy carrying heavy bags of shopping too far in the heat! Fresh bread and croissants are delivered daily.
Mercadona is one of the cheaper supermarket chains on the Costa Del Sol and has a great range of everyday products. Your nearest one is in Neuva Andulcia.

Restaurants and Bars on the Beach
| Tramps Beach Bar and Restaurant
As you leave Medina Garden gates turn right and walk down the promenade. As you hit the beach turn right and you will find Tramps Beach bar, restaurant and inexpensive sunbeds on the beach. Serves food until about 1700 and drinks until 2000. Times will vary dependent on time of year. Run by Alberto and very friendly service. This cove is the best swimming area for young children and adults who prefer to get in and out of the sea without walking on pebbles!Virtually sand all the way!
Pedro Beach bar and restaurant
If you continue walking along the beach the next bar restaurant after Tramps is Pedro Beach bar and restaurant. Great food, large portions and most people reserve their table for lunch so best to do likewise. Serves food later than Tramps so if you are peckish after 1700 this is the place to go for a late beach lunch. As mentioned, very popular at lunchtime so best to book a table. Very comfortable sun beds right down to the sea.
![]() Buddha Beach Restaurant This beach restaurant is virtually opposite Pedro’s beach bar.
It is a new concept on this coastline and the beach area has over 50 beach beds all with waiter service.
There is a restaurant area and new champagne and seafood bar.
Great position to watch the sun set and get those last sun rays. Can be a little noisy with loud music and boisterous young people.

Los Espigones Beach Restaurant , Playa del Rodeo,
Just a bit further down the beach from Pedro’s. Very popular with Spanish people especially on Sunday lunch when their fantastic paella is ordered in abundance. Best to book – Unlike other beach bars and restaurants Los Espignones is open 365 days of the year and never fails to please.
One of our favourites.

![]() Mistral Beach Club
This is definitely one of the most popular spots around. Walk down the promenade to the beach, turn right, pass Pedro Beach Bar, pass Los Espigones, keep walking and you will find Mistral Beach (approx 10 - 15 minute walk from apartment)
There are ample sun beds to relax during the day and a superb water sports centre for those wishing to be a bit more active.
Partnered with Mistral Beach Club is Hollywood Watersports. They offer one of Costa Del Sol’s best water sports collection with jet skis, banana rides, water skiing, pedalos and charters.
It is advisable to book the restaurant for lunch as it can get very busy.
![]() Leave Medina Garden, turn right and walk down the promenade to the beach. Ocean Club can be found on the left hand side as you descend the steps to the beach.
Dependent on budget you may wish to visit Ocean Club, It is hailed as one of Europe’s biggest and most exclusive beachside venues, located on the 1st beach line but it is also expensive.
The glamorous swimming pool, known as the biggest in Europe, is the undisputed jewel in the crown of the beach club. It is possible to book beach beds and sun beds around the swimming pool (not inexpensive!!) and stay the day or simply pop in for lunch and a glass of wine.
Serves fusion food with hints of French, Belgian and Mediterranean flavours.
The club is open to all and luxury and indulgence is guaranteed! However, the club is not open in low season and will re-open on April 30 2010 with it’s re-opening party.
A May Champagne Party takes place on 30 May 2010.
